Subway subs galore

Years ago one of the local sports shopped shut, today it was replaced by the Subway sandwich shop. We trailed down this evening for our free sub sarnies, Steak and Cheese for me whilst Phoebe had the Chicken Breast. I have to say they were yummy and hurrah no cooking or cleaning up afterwards for me!

I've also uploaded more photos of Mia's special day here : Mia

whilst looking at random pictures I happened to find a new halloween costume for your little 'uns!

Happy Naming Day!

Today was Mia's naming ceremony day. The sun shone, the Old Bridge Hotel looked beautiful, Mia was a happy bunny and we had lashings of tea, sandwiches (with the crusts cut off), scones with clotted cream and jam, profiteroles and a beautiful chocolate cheesecake - such a perfect day.

I feel very privilaged to have been asked to be a supporting parent for Mia. And I want to thank Paul and Lisa for bestowing me this great responsibility. But I must check the small print later (hehe - only joking).

How old?

Ok I turned 37 yesterday. And it wasn't too bad, in fact it was a hoot. My day started off with opening some cards, one contained a bar of Green and Blacks chocolate (nice one Tosha!). Next I headed off to work and had cakes at 10am, with more card opening, followed by an ok lunch at Aki-Teri in Cambridge. Quickly popped into Fopp and purchased a DVD.

Next I spent the afternoon trying to get my XenCenter to import images, which failed, and ended up just frustrating the hell out of me. So Matt and I played on the Wii for about 90 mins, now that was fun!

I left at 5.10, drove home, to be greeted by a great bunch of flowers (thanks Do), and then I fed Emily, gave her a bath and got her into her PJ's. I then managed to grab a shower and get changed just as our friends arrived. Pauline and Graham, followed by Nicky, Steve, Big Bird and Audrey. We chatted and drank, ordered a large Indian take away. Drank some more, laughed, ate a fantastic dinner, I even had a birthday cake, and I haven't had one of those years! I was happy. What a great day.

Today I got a pressie from my Mum and Dad - thanks for the bracelet it's nice.

I also received lots of goodies to test out this week, 2 boxes of unknown branded frosted flakes, and a lovely pack of new baby bum wipes.

Phoebe has received some early pressies as I had purchased a R4 micro sd card and 2Gig of memory that enables me to download a whole load of games for her Nintendo DS - I have to thank Inoyo for showing me the websites and tools. Nice one! Phoebe has been playing with her nintendo all weekend and has made a list of games she wants me to download for her.

Well that's all for now folks. Tomorrow we have a very busy day and I'm hoping to blog some photos about it too.

Darn

Well before I headed off to Great Yarmouth for a weekend of training I had to take the rabbit to the vet as he didn't look right. Only to discover that he had caught Myxomatosis. There wasn't anything we could do apart from put him to sleep. That's 2 pets in 3 weeks that we have lost. It's pretty sad that Phoebe has had to suffer 2 losses. She decided the best spot for him was just under where his hutch used to be and he was buried on Monday afternoon on a bed of straw.

He'll be happy in bunny heaven with his toast and dandelion leaves.

Hi-yah!

Right I'm about to hit the road and drive to Great Yarmouth for a weekend in Summer Camp. It's fun like other summer camps except I get to train in Tae Kwon Do all weekend, fight and if i get some time off for good behaviour maybe even grab a drink!

Raving Mad

I've just been watching "Bringing up Baby" programme that is aired on Tuesday evenings at 9pm on Channel 4. I'm thoroughly disgusted with this programmes blatant disregard for the emotional and psychological damage that they are causing by trying to implement out of date techniques and practices. All I can assume is that someone though that this aired "abuse" would make entertaining television - is someone who needs to address their morals and ethos!

So I've petitioned and I would urge others to do the same, only after viewing the programme.

"I'm disgusted and sick that anyone could have thought that this programme would make entertaining television and I'm even more disgusted that parents would consider to take part in such a horrific and abusive line of care for their children. Looking at the principles of these "baby regimes" is one thing but its another to psychologically and emotionally mistreat these children by trying to implement some of these outdated (and outdated for a reason!!!) regimes. I'm sure if you could speak to some people (both parents and children) who experiences these regimes when they were the "in-thing" to do, you would see that this programme was not a good idea!!"

Time for a new ticker for Emily!

Another week finished...

Where does the time go, oh hold on I spend most of my time doing housework, building a website, cleaning snotty noses, wiping bottoms, blogging or doing stupid stuff on Facebook. I have to admit it that I'm on Facebook. And find it totally annoying when I receive a message from facebook asking me to long in read messages. Grrrr!

I do sometimes get the chance to do something less boring than this, and I managed to get some time to photograph the kids at my friends house. And here is the fruit of my labours (all 2 of them!)

Some Elvis photos too!

365

365 days ago a little angel appeared. She captured our hearts from the moment we saw her and ever since she has smiled and laughed every day of her life.

Emily I wish you happiness and blessings for ever and a day.

Some updates

Yes I've been quiet, mainly because I ran out of disk space. Good news is I bought a new one (500GB) and installed 2GB of RAM. So that should at least give me another years worth of space for videos and photos.

Here are some photos from our trip to Alton Towers

Yes that hurts

Yesterday I had my first physio appointment for my sore back. Over the last 2 months I've had a plethora of differing aches and pains. I even once pulled a muscle from lifting a dining chair, and that left me lying in bed all day whilst my back spasmed.

We did the usual filling in the history of my back problems from the car crash to baby care and general health. She then got me to lie face down on her therapy couch while she had a go at locating the problems and oh my god I nearly jumped off the couch with so much pain. She started off at the base of my skull and pressed on the neck muscle and worked down to my left shoulder. It took all my reserve strength not to jump off that couch. Even my palm became sweaty with the pain. But she was doing her job! She continued down the neck, and into the shoulder and she even showed me the difference by pressing the other side of my neck and shoulder to show me how much less painful that side was.

Next she gave me some ultrasound to help loosen the muscle. Now this is odd as when you say ultrasound I couldn't help of thinking about babies and ultrasounds, but alas no pictures were made during this session.

Finally she gave me a couple of exercises to do which will help lengthen the neck muscles and ease some pain.

I really can't wait to see her again. I felt really happy and good yesterday. I finally had some answers to my crabby mood for the last month because I have been in pain, and tired from not being able to sleep most nights.
Hurrah, hurrah ! :)

Bye Bye Murphy

Today we had to say goodbye to Murphy. Murphy was old, 15 years!, and was suffering from renal disease for a long time. Yesterday he collapsed but recovered quickly but today he suffered a seizure and Drew had to take him to the vet. The vet agreed that he was close to the end and we all decided it was best for him not to suffer any longer. Murphy went to sleep peacfully. So to you my ginger haired fat cat - I salute your ever happy character. The time you dozed on the edge of the couch and fell off in your sleep. You were a happy dumb ass cat!

summer laze

I have been a bit lazy over the past few weeks, things have started getting busy again with the run up to school. We've had to go shopping for some new skool threads as The Pheebs has either grown taller or ruined the other ones. The kids have needed new shoes and as always Clarks was busy the day we visited. Emily got her first set of shoes too. They look cute but sometimes she gets the hissy fits with them and takes them off. I think she's like me and prefers to wonder around in bare feet all the time. In fact whilst I'm writing this my trainers are off (no comments about the smell please - these are fresh socks!)

If any of you are planning some fun activity holidays then there is no better place than here http://public.box.net/robfernall. Rob is a fellow workmate (and Microsoft challenger) . He's been advertising his newly refurbished holiday cottage and I have to admit that once I read the details I was mighty excited and wanted to go for a holiday. Lots to see and do all year round in Slovenia.

Things that make you go Ooo!

Firstly the kind people from Virgin actually refunded all our telephone calls for the last month due to the problem caused by an engineer plugging our cable into the wrong box - hence giving our telephone number to someone else. They are forgiven.

Secondly my dad's skoda broke down twice in 2 days! Firstly the very nice Skoda Emergency repair people came and replaced something in the starter. The car seemed fine after that until they reached the Edinburgh bypass when the whole thing conked out completely with a burning smell. Pooo to all the numpties who laughed and said things like "that's what you get for buying a skoda". I'd like to point out to those very thick dullards that actually it's got a VW engine (so na na na na nah!) Stick that in your exhaust pipe and smoke it.

Emily's favourite sound this week is "oooOOOooo". Mostly said when looking at lights.
